Heartline Update
Real quick before I leave for a weekend at camp (yay beechpoint!) I wanted to let you all know what is going on with the orphans at Heartline in Haiti.  The majority of them (12 of 20 was the last statistic I heard) have their Humanitarian visas and are cleared to fly to Florida tonight then continue on to be with their adoptive families soon!  I am thankful that the kids are getting out of Haiti...

Love Can Change the World
I was reminded of this while singing at His House tonight … the situation in Haiti is still weighing very heavily on my heart though I have heard some encouraging stories in the midst of the devestation of people helping each other. The looting and violence the news talks about are thankfully not issues that those at heartline have had to deal with.  Heartline has now converted their womens...

More on Haiti
I am torn between wanting to watch the news on Haiti all day long and not wanting to watch it at all.  My bible study girls decided to set a time each day when we would take a moment to pray for Haiti.  A friend at Grand Valley is trying to organize a benefit concert.  Orphanages and churches and any other standing buildings are being turned into medical clinics.  My pastors sister managed to get...

can't stop thinking about Haiti...
Last night when I got home from His House I had an e-mail from Heartline Ministries with information about the earthquake that hit Haiti.  Since then I can not stop thinking about that country and its people and the devistation they are now facing.  I have only been to Haiti once, but the three weeks I spent there in December 2007/ January 2008 working in an orphanage run by Heartline Ministries. ...

loosing things...
The past couple days I have been misplacing things and they have not been super important, but enough that is is really frustrating.  My favorite chapstick, and a piece of paper on which I had written notes on from the documentary I watched are the two things I have been searching for all day.  The last time I remember seeing either of them was before church yesterday morning …  Where do you...

"This Emotional Life"
Earlier this week I watched a three part documentary on WGVU that was about happiness.  At first I thought it was going to be really cheesy but it was actually interesting, they interviewed social workers, and psychologists, as well as celebrities, and ordinary people.  Topics addressed the first night included relationships, attachment disorders, greif and loss.  Addiction, anger, depression,...

“I know it’s not perfect, but its life. Life is messy sometimes.”
– -Grey’s Anatomy I’m really into finding quotes in books, songs or movies that relate to my life and Grey’s Anatomy has some pretty good ones.  Maybe that’s why I like the show so much :)
