cheerios :)
This morning I opened up my cupboard to find some cereal and noticed I have 3 different varieties of cheerios … lol Honey Nut are probably my favorite but the Multi-Grain are a close second and this was my first time trying Banana Nut :)
In other news, my mom is a second grade teacher and today she called me to say she fell off a chair and broke her elbow (during the school day). ...

not my best day
Today was a little rough … my alarm clock didn’t go off so I woke up at 10:15 when my phone rang (I was supposed to be at work at 10). When I got there her mom made some comment about ‘rowdy teenagers’ that I didn’t understand because not only am I not a teenager but I spent last night doing homework not being rowdy. My client today was totally uninterested in me and...
Winter Blast
I spent last weekend “freezing my bo-honkus off” (to quote Elizabeth) at camp. I really enjoy winter blast despite the craziness that sometimes occurs from trying to get a lot done in a little time! I just wanted to share some of the things that made this weekend stand out from previous years:
- one little boy got his tongue stuck to the tether ball poll (after being told by me and...
Last week I unexpectedly got a $40 bonus check from work (well technically from Network 180) so today right after depositing it in the bank I went to Best Buy because season 2 volume 1 of GLEE was just released and on sale! I was pretty excited to buy it for $20 when it was originally marked $34.99 … can’t wait to watch it this evening when I get back from sledding with my Other Way...
This week I’ve been in the mood to organize my house a bit more. I’ve official past the two year mark making this the longest I’ve lived anyplace aside from my parents house. I have no plans to leave anytime soon, I’m no longer a college student who moves every year. As such I really need to start making this place look more like a home than a place I am just passing...
a good book
I’m about 60 pages into a book my roommate got me for Christmas “The Elegance of the Hedgehog.” It sounded interesting and was a bestseller but I am not finding it very interesting yet. Maybe it’s becasue I always read before bed when my mind isn’t the sharpest or maybe it’s becasue of all the french words and cultural references (i don’t know any...
music i like :)
I had a code for 5 free song downloads from Pop Tarts (yeah, i really like Pop Tarts) and listening to the songs this morning I realize they are sort of an odd assortment:
“You Belong With Me” -Taylor Swift
“I Gotta Feeling” - Black Eyed Peas
“Ordinary Girl” - Hannah Montana
“Washed By the Water” - NeedtoBreathe
“Stand” - Rascal...
Perspective
An interesting thing happened today- I gained perspective on something that happened almost a year and a half ago. The movie theater in the Rivertown mall was hosting an event for children with special needs, the movie “Despicable Me” for only $1 a person. A perk of working Saturdays -getting to attend cool events like this :) Well, I rarely go to that movie theater anymore because I...
a year and a day
On the radio today I kept hearing talk about sponsoring kids in Haiti and reminding people that it’s been a year and a day since the earthquake. While I’m sure they have good intentions the whole thing sounded to me like they were a little too focused on people giving money. I think it’s important to remember Haiti and continue to keep the people of that country in our prayers,...
"Bittersweet"
Just finished reading this book and just like her first book I really enjoyed the way the author tells many short stories abut her life that all relate back to the way’s God is working. I thought I would share a quote that I enjoyed and hope it makes you stop and think for a minute about your own story …
“The big story really is actually being told through our little stories,...
mini vacation in the middle of the week
I took a day off from work this week so I could go to the east side of the state and spend some time with my best friend, Kim, before she went back to Ecuador. I am so thankful that my job is somewhat flexible!
Tuesday night we went out for Sushi with some of her friends (no, I don’t actually like sushi - yes i have tried it twice now). Then we kicked butt in a game of Mad Gab and lost...
