my “other family”

Sunday  I had a  chance to hang out with the people I have considered practically my family at their house and it was pretty great.  I have known this family for about 11 years now (their dad was my youth pastor) and their daughter and I have always been especially close.  We refer to each other as ‘sister’ (when she was little people always said we looked alike) sometimes since neither of us actually has a sister.

Right now they are going through a bit of a hard time becasue their mom has breast cancer and just  began her chemo treatments and I find myself wishing I could be there to support them more often. I was thankful that I could help the boys with their homework and help Taylor make sandwiches because it gave me a chance to not just spend time with them, but also feel like  I was relieving some stress for at least a few hours from their parents.

(this is Tristyn he is the middle child)
